Every year we check our kids’ Halloween candy to make sure they’re safe to eat. This year however, we have something new to look out for.
An incident in Johnstown, Pennsylvania prompted the police to post this warning on their Facebook page:
"During this Halloween, we urge parents to be ever vigilant in checking their children's candy before allowing them to consume those treats. Drug laced edibles are packaged like regular candy and may be hard to distinguish from the real candy."
The FDA has issued a list of Halloween Food Safety Tips to protect kids and warn us parents not to let their trick-or-treaters dig into their candy until we carefully inspect it.
