(Fort Lauderdale, FL) - Broward School Superintendent delivering his State of the District address this morning at Broward College. Dr. Howard Hepburn proudly proclaimed Broward is an A-rated district for a second year in a row.

Also, for the second year in a row...every school in the district is rated A, B or C with zero D or F schools. Cut number of C schools by half.

Dr. Hepburn said this year's theme is, "Dash to the Dream voices of 2038. That's the year today's kindergarteners will graduate.

"The decisions we make, the goals we set, the actions we take will shape their trajectory.

He says the district is performing well despite a $65 million dollar budget gap due to enrollment drops and a projected shortfall in the district's $5-billion budget. And he emphasized that school security remains a priority with mandatory cross alert badges provided for teachers and staff.

There are four new K-through-8 schools, and the district is integrating A.I. in every school.

School starts August 12th, and breakfast will be free for every student, lunch will not.
