Amit Elor, a 20-year-old wrestler from Walnut Creek, California, is making her mark on the international stage. Born on January 1, 2004, Elor is the youngest female wrestler on Team USA and is set to make her Olympic debut in Paris. She is currently ranked number one in the U.S. for the 68kg weight class and has already won eight world titles in freestyle wrestling across various age groups.
Elor began wrestling at the age of 4, inspired by watching her brother's practices. She is the youngest of six children and has always been competitive. She told NBCOlympics.com, "I just couldn't stand being on the sidelines and not being able to wrestle."
In addition to her wrestling career, Elor is a student at Diablo Valley College and trains with the Titan Mercury Wrestling Club. She is known for her hand fighting in competition and is always looking to expand her skills.
Despite her young age, Elor has already achieved significant success. At 18, she became the youngest senior world champion in U.S. history and won again the following year in 2023. She is a favorite to win gold at the upcoming Paris Olympics.
Off the mat, Elor is a self-proclaimed foodie who loves to cook and try out new recipes. She also enjoys hiking with her dog and reading.
