(Boca Raton, Fla.) - Reality TV star "Tan Mom" is running for a U.S. Senate seat in her home state of Florida.
Patricia Krentcil, 54, known on the Internet as "Tan Mom," plans to challenge Rick Scott for his GOP Senate seat in Florida in 2024.
The single mother of five already launched her campaign website and is running as a Republican based out of Boca Raton
"I know that I am different. And I have suffered for it. But us all being different is what makes this country so amazing and unique." she told TMZ.
Krentcil gained international attention in 2012 after taking her six-year-old daughter with her into a tanning salon bed.
She was charged with child endangerment and acquitted and now says she's focused on LGBTQ rights rather than on extreme tanning.
