What an amazing feat! Florida Tech just flew the country's first electric airplane as well, they are the first university OWN an electric plane.
The flight happened out of the Melbourne International Airport and lasted 22-minutes. The really cool part about this is to operate the plane on this particular flight, only cost $1.03! Literally, just over a dollar for a flight!
I've owned my own electric vehicle for almost 6 years now and to see an electric plane is SO COOL!
