Olivia Rodrigo experienced a "terrifying" moment during a recent concert that sent her to the hospital after the show was over.
During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday (October 29), the "Vampire" singer opened up about the moment she fell into a hole on stage during her GUTS tour stop in Australia earlier this month, per People. Laughing about it now, she jokingly said, "Oh my God, that was fun!" before sharing that she's doing OK after the "really scary" moment.
"Wow, sometimes, just there's a hole in the stage," she said, adding, "Watching the video back, it's pretty terrifying. I mean the show must go on, that's showbiz baby."
Rodrigo said that the timing of the fall happened in the most "beautiful" way as she had recently wrapped up her tour stop in the Philippines and ended up making a special connection with a nurse at the hospital when she went to get checked out after the fall.
"And I was thinking about my family and my heritage and my relatives and I fell and I was like all shake up," the hitmaker, who is of Filipino heritage, said. "And I went to the hospital after. Nothing happened but they just wanted to make sure I didn't have a concussion."
While there, she met a Filipino nurse who had the same name as her grandpa who she said "passed away a few months ago" so it was as if he was there watching over her.
"And so I was like wow that was him looking out for me," she said. "Making sure I didn't get hurt and so I'm really happy it happened. I think it's a beautiful story."
Elsewhere in the interview, Rodrigo also told the story of how she was once mistaken for a look-alike with an arrest record.
