The Weeknd Debuts New Song, Performs With Doja Cat During TikTok Concert

The Weeknd teased a new track during his virtual TikTok concert.

The “Snowchild” musician kicked off TikTok's first-ever augmented reality event on Friday (August 7) with “The Weeknd Experience,” beaming over 230,000 viewers into an alternate reality as the pop star delivered virtual performances of his songs, including a few from his number-one album, After Hours.

The 20-minute interactive live stream saw The Weeknd enter into a hellish, 3D realm where the singer’s avatar appears out of an inferno in the form of his menacing After Hours persona, who wears oversized sunglasses, a red jacket and often appears with a noticeably bloodied face and nose bandage.

Although “Pray For Me” featuring Kendrick Lamar, “Blinding Lights,” and “Save Your Tears” were among the tracks played during The Weeknd’s virtual event, the night was also filled with surprise performances.

Doja Cat pounced onto the scene wearing in aesthetic-appropriate catsuit to perform their remixed version of “In Your Eyes.” What’s more, The Weeknd surprised viewers at home with an exclusive snippet of an unreleased song, presumably called “Know That.”

“I don't really care if your tears fall down your face/ You know you play the victim every time/ I know you gettin' turnt every night,” he sings. “Your girls ain't s—t, tryna get me off your mind/ The same ones who be hittin' up my line/ They're not your friends.”

The Weeknd's virtual TikTok experience launched just hours after he released his collaboration, "Smile," with the late Juice WRLD.
