'Stranger Things 4' Teaser Reveals A Major Character Is Still Alive

Hopper survives in the new teaser for Stranger Things 4!

On Valentine’s Day (February 14), Netflix gave Stranger Things fans two gifts in one: a special teaser for the show’s new season, as well as the closure of knowing David Harbour’s beloved character will live to see another day. The clip, entitled “From Russia With Love,” whisks fans to a snowy landscape, where Hopper seems to be working alongside a railroad crew — but as with everything in the Stranger universe, nothing is ever as it appears to be.

“We’re excited to officially confirm that production on Stranger Things 4 is now underway — and even more excited to announce the return of Hopper,” said showrunners Matt and Ross Duffer in a press release. “Although it’s not all good news for our ‘American’; he is imprisoned far from home in the snowy wasteland of Kamchatka, where he will face dangers both human…and other. Meanwhile, back in the states, a new horror is beginning to surface, something long buried, something that connects everything.”

“Season 4 is shaping up to be the biggest and most frightening season yet, and we cannot wait for everyone to see more,” they added. “In the meantime — pray for the American.”

Aside from Hopper’s surprising return, the Duffer Brothers also alluded that The Beyers family and Eleven would be moving to a new town as part of the creators’ vision of stepping outside the world of The Upside Down. While little more is known than that, the duo did tease that the first episode of season 4 would be titled “The Hellfire Club.”

As yet, a premiere date for Stranger Things 4 has not been announced.
